What is Fucibet?

Fucibet is a potent combination treatment that provides powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects for severe infected skin conditions. The combination of betamethasone valerate (potent steroid) with fusidic acid (antibiotic) makes it particularly effective for conditions that haven’t responded to milder treatments.

Book an online consultation if you have severe infected eczema, persistent inflammatory skin conditions, or skin infections that haven’t responded to milder treatments. Our GPs can assess whether Fucibet’s potent combination approach is appropriate for your specific skin condition while ensuring safe usage protocols.

What is Fucibet used for?

  • Infected eczema
  • Severe infected dermatitis
  • Secondary bacterial skin infections with inflammation
  • Infected psoriatic lesions
  • Post-surgical infected wounds
  • Severe allergic skin reactions with secondary infection

How does Fucibet work?

A combination cream containing betamethasone valerate (potent steroid) and fusidic acid (antibiotic), providing powerful anti-inflammatory effects while treating bacterial skin infections simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Fucibet different from milder steroid-antibiotic combinations?

Fucibet contains betamethasone valerate, a potent steroid, making it much stronger than combinations with mild steroids like hydrocortisone. It's reserved for severe conditions.

Why is the treatment duration limited to 7 days?

The potent steroid can cause significant skin thinning, stretch marks, and other serious side effects with prolonged use. Short courses minimize these risks.

Can I use Fucibet on my face?

Only under specialist dermatological supervision due to high risk of skin thinning and other complications on facial skin, which is more sensitive.

What should I do if my skin condition gets worse?

Stop using Fucibet immediately and contact your GP, as worsening may indicate the wrong diagnosis, viral infection, or allergic reaction to the treatment.
