Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for Lymecycline to work for acne?

You may see some improvement in 6-8 weeks, but full benefits often take 3-4 months of consistent use. Continue taking as prescribed even if initial improvement seems slow.

Why do I need to avoid dairy products with Lymecycline?

Calcium in dairy products binds to the antibiotic, preventing its absorption. This significantly reduces effectiveness, so take 2 hours away from dairy.

Can I take Lymecycline long-term for acne?

Yes, it's commonly used for 3-6 months or longer for acne treatment. Your GP will monitor you and may combine it with topical treatments for best results.

Why am I more sensitive to sunlight while taking Lymecycline?

Tetracyclines increase photosensitivity, making you more prone to sunburn. Always use SPF 30+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure during treatment.
