Frequently Asked Questions

Why must I take Phenoxymethylpenicillin on an empty stomach?

Food can reduce the absorption of this antibiotic, making it less effective. Take it 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals for best results.

Can I get Phenoxymethylpenicillin without a prescription?

No. All antibiotics require a prescription from a UK-registered healthcare professional after proper assessment.

What's the difference between this and Amoxicillin?

Phenoxymethylpenicillin must be taken on an empty stomach and is typically used for throat and skin infections, while Amoxicillin can be taken with food and has broader uses.
